I love living in Oklahoma, where you can always count on the Red Wave of Conservative common sense!
This week, Oklahoma voters rewarded a slew of Republican candidates who believe in limited government and financial prudence, electing conservatives to every statewide office and U.S Senate & House seats.
Governor Kevin Stitt led the way with his successful reelection after four years of working to keep a lid on state expenditures and grow the state savings account to record levels. At the same time, he and conservative legislative leaders increased funding for schools and teachers to record highs. Common sense Oklahomans agree that guarding expenses and investing in education is the right strategy.
U.S. Senator James Lankford is back for another term after consistently voting against the crazy Biden spending packages over the past two years and warning of the dangers of too much money chasing too few goods. Common sense Oklahomans are understandably frustrated with the current inflation mess, but they know Senator Lankford will fight for fiscal sanity in D.C.
From my hometown, Tulsa, Congressman Kevin Hern won reelection decisively as well. We are fortunate to have a sharp businessman who understands explicitly how the economy works and that more debt will ultimately create a financial disaster. Common sense Oklahomans trust Hern to oppose borrowing more money for people to avoid work, crazy green energy projects, and thousands of IRS tax agents.
Republicans also control the State Senate and the State House with large majorities. Common sense Conservative Oklahomans can look forward to sound financial practices that ensure we are prepared for the next recession, change the tax code for a new level of growth, and prioritize spending for better schools.
I’m proud to see we are keeping Oklahoma red!
